Michael Jennings has pissed hot. Roids and growth hormones. That's that career done and if Parra had any hopes of scraping through this weekend, they are also gone. Their backline is toast.

Old bloke trying to hang on. Bit sad really
โJennings was tested on the 21st of September with the positive result received on the 9th of October.โ
Interesting timing.
What intrigues me in any of these types of development is who else knew?

Yeah, he was probably good enough to hold down a spot without it (definitely in the Superleague). Stink way to end his career.
I just hope there are not any more prominent(actually any) players juicing. Especially not older guys. Wouldn't want to name anyone because I don't want to cast aspersions without good at least someone else doing it first.... :face_with_stuck-out_tongue_winking_eye:

Cracking five minutes by Eels to get themselves back into the match against the Bunnies.
That Jennings try was special.
As hard as it is to say it, but that was a very good win by the Rabbits.
Panthers need to do their duty for club and country and beat this mob next week.
@antipodean their fans are as bad as each other. The wailing and gnashing of teeth coming from the Pies fans tonight is not a pretty sight, but enjoyable

Do they have enough teeth to gnash?

@NTA youโre out west arenโt you Nick? Eels fan?
Man I canโt stand the Rabbits. The Eels have their fair share of grubs but nothing like the Rabbits.
Nominally - don't really follow league as I find it a bit repetitive.
My Rugby club shares training facilities with them, so would like to see them do well. Lot of Parra fans in the club but a few in the Souths, Penriff and Raiders camps as well.

No flies on Bennett. Old cnut just refuses to disappear.
Probably would have done better in the test today if he was coaching instead of Fozzie.
Plus @mariner4life's blow up when Wayne somehow manages to find a long lost grandparent for Darius Boyd and then his selection in the ABs would be a sight to behold.
Big night for @kiwiinmelb with both his teams playing.
This game is a stitch up
Got both the AFL and NRL on, now just the AFL...

Yeah was great , had the tigers on the tv and the storm on the laptop ,
Big weekend next weekend
Every time I complain about rugby refs, I should pause and reflect on how incompetent league refs can be on a much simpler game.
Also - how overrated is Wayne Bennett? Let's see him coach the Bulldogs.
Another Burgess without the brainpower to play the ball. Such a simple skill and Souths appear to have difficulty with it.

The Bunnies hooker Damian Cook is a grub. His neck rolls are Cameron Smith-esque...
He cracks me up, he's actually well spoken in interviews (his bogan accent isn't as pronounced as most players) yet he looks like a bikie.
I just hope a couple of the Panther players that got hurt tonight come right.
Kikau will be back too.

Wayne won a title with the Dragons..

Welcome back bro.
I think Bennett is an excellent coach, but he invites plenty of criticism and attention because of his manner and style. He comes across as โbigger than the gameโ with the way he engages with the media. Sure the media are dogs sometimes, but play the game and donโt always be an egg about it.

Not at all. He's up there with the best coaches of all time. Should have retired after the Dragons though.
I don't think he's half as good as his press would like you to believe. He's benefitted from good rosters, and his Dragons experience was a team on the rise which deteriorated just as quickly.

Name a single premiership winning coach who hasn't benefited from a good roster. He also worked wonders back in the old Qld comp with very limited cattle.
I get the hate. The guy is a weird looking grumpy tool. But he's a damn good coach. Or at least used to be.

Wasn't he an assistant to the kiwis when we'd performed well?

@canefan yeah pretty sure he was there when we won the world cup.
I thought so

Of course all premiership winning coaches have good rosters. My point is he's largely made his reputation on the basis of a SoO team at his disposal and once he left unsurprisingly selected a team he could do something with.
The way people carry on about him you'd think he could walk on water.

Yep, say what you like about him but he made Kearney a decent coach in that winning campaign, and that's got to be the equivalent of building the Taj Mahal with a two year old engineer in charge.

I disagree with that. He became Broncos coach after amazing results in the Qld comp, SOO and even getting Canberra to a final in 1987. So he already had a huge rep even before the Broncos were formed. The Broncos gig also came with some major issues, particularly at the start.
Yeah, I think he has about 7 premierships to his name just looking at NRL success, over 60% winning rate over 500 games which is astounding too. You could argue he is not the greatest at some aspects of the role, eg media handling, but he has more credentials based on success (which ultimately what a coach is remembered by) than most. You don't have to like him, but he certainly is a great coach.
Is he still at the top of his game, arguably not, but he does deserve credit for what he has achieved.
