What a great name. If he loses perhaps he could contact Vince McMahon about heading into WWE. He doesn't even need character development, he's the full package right now

Klitschko is a very unusual character for this sport , smart , educated ,well spoken , qualified doctor , speaks 7 languages , and his brother Vitali an ex champion is now a politician

somehow just doesnt seem quite right for a heavyweight boxing champion

Great vid Raz, both come across as respectful but yet eager to knock the other out. Can't see Fury taking this one, Wlad still looks in amazing nick despite being 'old'

He'll be too methodical but people forget he has devastating power at times too.

I've never really watched Wlad's fights and had a look on youtube last night. I'm no boxing expert but I have rarely seen anyone with his ability to hit hard from standing so far away. He seems outside of his own reach then leans forward at the same moment as the arm extends and thwack.

As an opponent he must be a mare. Can't get close to him and if you stay away you'll just lose on points anyway.

That's exactly right, klitschko's main weapon is his jab it's absolutely lethal.

He's knocked many guys out with it.

In contrast, Fury must have one of the weakest jabs in boxing. The reach advantage mentioned earlier will have no effect as he is unable to throw a jab that would hurt anyone..

I can see fury getting knocked out in 6. He has to try to get inside but doubt he has the ability or the coordination to do so without getting stung.

Both brothers have that real upright style and huge reach that guys like Tua, Tyson, Frazier etc struggle against.

The body shape of heavyweight boxers has certainly changed ,

Joseph Parker stands at about 6 foot 5 and is similar dimensions to Lennox Lewis , that would've been considered huge not so long ago , now it's just average .

It makes you wonder how the boxers from the golden era , Ali , Frazier , Norton etc would look standing next to these guys . While we like to think they were the greatest and would destroy the current guys , the reality is they may get monstered , it would be like moving up to another weight division .

It's the size of the fight in the dog, not the dog in the fight. I remember Matua Parkinson busting out that cliche as a 95 kg openside about to mark Koula Tukino and Isitolo Maka in a Super match.

Personally I reckon the real old school guys, Jim Jeffries...Jack Dempsey.....Joe Louis.....Rocky Marciano would have held their own in any era primarily cos they were just so god damn tough. Blokes who did the real manual labour type jobs all day and then boxed all night. I suppose in one sense that's a bit like saying Pinetree lugging fence posts all day more than made up for today's Rugby players smashing tin in the gym but heavyweight boxing is still about big guys throwing ( and just as, if not more, importantly taking ) punches.

I suppose of the list I mentioned Marciano would seriously struggle to get close to Klitchko, Lewis, Ali etc but many historians reckon he was the hardest puncher ever which the likes of Tyson, Tua, Foreman, Shavers etc would seriously dispute.....

Where's Red Terror to provide a better analysis than this ?

Maybe. Tyson relied on scaring the shit out of guys he faced. When they didn't fear him he lost a huge advantage. Those Klitchko boys might appear a bit dour but they also don't look like they scare too easily.....

Kind of agree,

But it's also a bit of a myth imo. It was true during the late 90's, but not so much in his younger year that I'm referring to

Tyson had power, amazing speed of hand and excellent defensive ability..... Mike was outboxing and outjabbing good boxers with a massive reach advantage. It takes exceptional skill to do so.

Later on in his career, his skills were diminished somewhat, then he did rely on intimidation. But before his prison stretch whether or not you feared him, he'd find a way to beat you.

Look at the Razor Ruddock fights, he wasn't scared yet Tyson found a way.

Although the second Bruno fight and Spinks were 100% won before he even stepped in the ring.

Easily. Tyson's entire career was fighting taller guys with more reach and a lot of them could actually box.

He was a machine ,

But he relied on blowing guys away early , its whether he could get inside him , would that big jab and frame keep him out for those early rounds ,

I would back Klitschko to finish him off if it went to middle rounds

It's surprising but Wlad is getting old. Age had to catch up at some point, I just didn't think it would be this point. I would probably love to see Wilder vs Fury or Fury vs Joshua. Fury is quite choosy about who he fights.

Yes, Fury also switched between orthodox and southpaw.

I didn't even realise the match was live on SS2 this morning. By all accounts it was a borefest - Fury averaged 7 punches landed per round, Klitschko averaged a little under 4.5 punches landed per round.

It would be good to see a unification fight with Wilder but boxers tend to avoid eachother.
