Yeah sorry I'm gonna have to take a sabbatical. Not even going to be watching the Aussie games probably and not paying for 6 games a week and watching two, so 29 is a dream!

Canes Gold look to have just five on their roster as well so a spot there for one of the other Canes supporters like @foobaNZ @Dan54 @Cactus-Jack @NZbloke @canefan @BerhamporeNinja or one of the many others to step up and show their true colours

Good spot - have fixed it now. I often do these things at 5am so always good to let me know when I have stuffed up.

@mikey07 You can tip late but it means you get given the default Away 17+ for the games you miss, which in this case means you get the ten points for the Crusaders (who just happened to be the away team) game. Not so lucky for the Rebels who were the away side but that doesn't really matter as a fair few of the tips would have been for them and not many for the Drua. Kind of limits your selections in the categories part but that also gives you more scope as 100% picked Crusaders as top scorers expecting them to get about 150 points! Now you can tip your Canes for highest and hope they rattle up a decent number against the Highlanders.

Old news - you get nothing for games you don't tip for. Sorry. You do get the advantage of knowing the scores already for your category picks

@kiwipie Sorry, I misinterpreted the Late Tips bit in the Help tab. I thought it referred to all games missed rather than missing making a selection for upcoming games.

No you interpreted what it says correctly - I just need to update those rules to reflect the change.

All the scores are updated

A high scoring round as nearly everyone went Crusaders, Moana and their game as top, low and biggest win and although after the game it looked unlikely, all those picks came in. Quite a few also went Blues v Chiefs as closest game for the maximum 20 category points. Nobody managed to pick 6/6 games, the ones who picked the Drua fell down on another game.

Best score for the weekend was Canes4life again with 69 along with ACT Crusader with Triple T, John Nolan and TR on 67. Machpants is leading by 1 at the top but only 4 points separate the top 5 which has Canes4life now up to 4th.

A draw between Barbarians and BOP Chiefs leaves them as the only 2 unbeaten teams.

Another postponement - the Hurricanes game is off - I will work out how to score the points for the categories as it is too late to get everyone to tip again. Might just can the categories for the week and give everyone 10 points instead ....

@kiwipie That sounds ok as there are a fair number with the Canes - MP game as the widest, not to mention highest and lowest scorers. You might want to keep the closest match still operative as no one would have picked the MP game for that so unlikely anyone to be disadvantaged there.

Yes that is the Machpants who was leading but has now dropped to 16th overall. Crucial had the high score of 57 for the weekend, the only person to pick all 5 games (and only he and mikedogz picked the Chiefs to win). A score of 40 or more was a solid effort. Antipodean managed 47 for second best score and Canes4lfe was 3rd with 46 to take the lead overall, 5 clear of Plastered Peni with Triple T, Higgins & Neale Davies completing the top 5.

@kiwiwomble It is not that hard. Just use simple guidelines like picking the Blues and Crusaders to win each week and the Drua, Rebels, and Manu Pacifica to lose each week and bingo you are almost there with a perfect round!

@higgins im one of those idiots that struggles to "bet" against the highlanders...and so always off to a rough start

OK I'm making the call to have a bye week for tipping this week - with all 3 of the original NZ games postponed and a different game included, it is just getting too hard. Let's reconvene next week.

I'd consider it but due to my earlier poor performances even that would probably only lift me to the lower reaches of the top 10.

As advertised - tipping is live for Week 6 - get to it

A low scoring weekend as there were almost no points scored for the category picks and nobody went 6/6 given the Canes defeat. https://www.thesilverfern.com/tipping/

Top scorer was Kruse with 44 who was one of 5 who picked 5/6 (the others were Hydro11, John Nolan, Victor & JK). If you forgot to pick you scored a big fat zero as Stockcar86 managed to score only 4 points with a full set of picks - simply outstanding! That is a low score that will be tough to beat.

Canes4 life still leads by 4 from Hydro11 who shot up to 2nd with Hurrycanes up to 3rd. Only 35 points covers the top 25 so plenty of opportunity to rise fast. 4th to 19th is just 13 points.

The BOP Chiefs continued their unbeaten run, leadingt from the Barbarians with Canes Gold in 3rd and the SunJags holding the other playoff spot.

The tipping form is live for the weekend ahead, as there are only 5 games there is a double your points option added in.

@kiwipie Just confirming that we are not tipping tonight's game?
