@ploughboy yeah certainly becoming a bit of an issue in the game.
MAybe need timeouts too...
Seriously though, was rather ironic when you think we were down a man, they'd be the ones wanting to speed the game up, they were slowing it down.

yeah thought it was strange but probably shows how structured they play

@reprobate one of his drops was massively significant, him catching the ball was crucial to the move they had up thier sleeve (or were winging) the throw was nigh on perfect
The bad drop from the long throw was poor. The other was from a pass behind him from Cane that went backwards and was recovered, so that wasn't all on Tupaea. Rieko had more overall turnovers in the game.
The simple thing to do is that players need to leave the field to be attended by medical staff, and play continues. You would find that most of these "injured" players are back to their feet quickly.

The highlights I watched he also threw a very unnecessary skip pass in our 22 which led to a turnover late in the game

and dropping ball is uncharacteristic for him
Is it? He seemed to have gotten better for the chiefs since making the ABs, but I have a vague memory of his handling being pretty poor at times for the chiefs before that.
He's a frustratingly inconsistent player.
Every few matches he'll have a game where he starts dropping balls or giving away penalties.
He's not the only one and basically a microcosm for the whole team.
Just confirmed a free ticket for Saturday. Boom.
There's just the small matter of pacing myself at the Trentham races earlier in the day.

Foz has confirmed Clarke won't be fit.
So like Lord that's a second wasted spot in the original squad.
At least we got to have a look at Faingaanuku and he got to learn some harsh lessons. I can't see him repeating that performance.
Why would you think that?
Anyone who's been watching Leicester knows he's still good for a couple of errors a game.
He's significantly better than he was 12 months ago, though so hopefully he continues to improve.

I will put a mako as my avatar if he ever has that bad a game for the ABs.

The Wellington Racing Club hasn't allowed pacers on the champagne turf for a good decade or two!
@ploughboy said in All Blacks vs Ireland - series decider:
one thing the ABs need to get the ref to look at this week is how ireland slowed the game down in second half. players going down injured and moving slow to lineouts and scrums. was very south African like.
Based on what I have seen of Barnes in 2022 I think he's on this...

So strange and remiss of me that I didn't realize you were a pacer from your profile pic!

Seeing some strange odds here
AB's 1-12 2.6
AB's 12+ 2.15Ireland 1-12 5
Ireland 12+ 12I'm thinking in my mind Ireland are at least the same odds if not favorites for this.
I might throw a few bucks on Ireland 12+
Never. Ever. Bet against the ABs. It's not a win/win, it's just a lose/lose.
You'll feel dirty, unclean, ashamed. Your family will disown you, your parents disinherit you. Your kids will refuse to acknowledge you.
Worst of all, you risk a ban from the Fern.
You will die early, poor and alone, unable to erase the memory of the time that you lost $5 when the mighty ABs beat the cocky Irish pretenders by 21 points.

I'd pay $5 to see a 21 point win.
But are they cocky if they say they'll win and they do?
If we lose , is it possible to move out of the top 4 rankings ?
Can you imagine that ? an allblack team not in the top 4 teams in the world .
That is not going to change. Rugby is not a fast paced game at international level. Sure it can be dynamic when ball is in play but you can’t run a team off it’s feet anymore at the top level. Refs are too worried about player safety and they will stop for any minor incident and won’t question it.
It’s why teams from the NH and SA are bulking their players up and contracting on collisions whereas Fozzie (and Hansen before him) wants mobile forwards trying to run teams off their feet and we conserve energy waiting for the last 20 minutes where we fatigue a side but it just doesn’t come anymore.
We may not have been top 4 in 94.
If that does happen then the NZR really has to act. Their new VC partners will certainly be asking why they are not protecting their investment if the don’t.

I think it would be a sign how far we have slipped , losses do happen ,and thats acceptable ,
but the rankings are a sign how frequently they are happening , and I think that would be unacceptable

i could even handle the losses if the performance was better
yes, i know teams usually lose because the other team takes them away from their plan/applies pressure/makes you play poorly
but it is without arrogance i say that there is an enormous amount of self-inflicted crap going on in AB rugby at the moment. And that is hugely disappointing.
@mariner4life agreed, i remember thinking the lose to SA last year was actually a very enjoyable game to watch, just disappointed in the result but enjoyed the game.....havent enjoyed many since

I want the ABs to win.
But deep down I truly believe the ABs are broken and the sooner this coaching staff is binned the better.
Realistically for that to happen it means a Bledisloe loss and the end of the Eden Park streak.
@DaGrubster the soundbite I heard this morning is that 4th is the lowest we have ever been since the rankings have been a thing.

Yeah I mostly feel that way too. But I am conflicted. A hiding (or even a win) would just paper over the cracks and we will continue to stumble along to further disappointment.

yeah, would love a different 15 than named to run out...play a worldie...80m of every time the cut to foozie seeing him scream about know knowing whats going on and then in the speeches after someone just says they realised they knew more than Foozie so took things into their own hands...
