At least we got to have a look at Faingaanuku and he got to learn some harsh lessons. I can't see him repeating that performance.

Anyone who's been watching Leicester knows he's still good for a couple of errors a game.

He's significantly better than he was 12 months ago, though so hopefully he continues to improve.

I will put a mako as my avatar if he ever has that bad a game for the ABs.

@Kirwan rugbypass and other sites plus a good portion of rugby fans are certainly in their element seeing both the ABs lose and AB fans get all worked up.

I'd pay $5 to see a 21 point win.
But are they cocky if they say they'll win and they do?

That is not going to change. Rugby is not a fast paced game at international level. Sure it can be dynamic when ball is in play but you can’t run a team off it’s feet anymore at the top level. Refs are too worried about player safety and they will stop for any minor incident and won’t question it.

It’s why teams from the NH and SA are bulking their players up and contracting on collisions whereas Fozzie (and Hansen before him) wants mobile forwards trying to run teams off their feet and we conserve energy waiting for the last 20 minutes where we fatigue a side but it just doesn’t come anymore.

I think it would be a sign how far we have slipped , losses do happen ,and thats acceptable ,

but the rankings are a sign how frequently they are happening , and I think that would be unacceptable

i could even handle the losses if the performance was better

yes, i know teams usually lose because the other team takes them away from their plan/applies pressure/makes you play poorly

but it is without arrogance i say that there is an enormous amount of self-inflicted crap going on in AB rugby at the moment. And that is hugely disappointing.

But deep down I truly believe the ABs are broken and the sooner this coaching staff is binned the better.

Realistically for that to happen it means a Bledisloe loss and the end of the Eden Park streak.

Yeah I mostly feel that way too. But I am conflicted. A hiding (or even a win) would just paper over the cracks and we will continue to stumble along to further disappointment.

(aside: i saw an old video of Mal the other week scoring an 80m runaway. beat the first tackler because he was massive, then i forgot how fucking quick he was for a huge unit. just an awesome player).

I have wondered this for the last few years. The senior players would have all been under numerous coaches and would instantly know whether Fozzie is a goose or not.

There are a number of anonymous survey tools now, simply survey the playing group making sure it is anonymous to get accurate feedback. There is very heavy bias when speaking in public about someone's ability.

if on honest, there are probably enough guys in this squad that should have been dropped on pure form at least briefly over the last few years, they probably know they have foozie to thank for keeping them around

Well the ABs and Ireland followed the origin script correctly - one team wins the first match, the other has a big win in the second, sets up the decider to be the greatest match in the history of the known multiverses.
