Nathan Smith just took the most amazing catch you’ll ever see.

I hope they can put something decent on the board.
An evening watching our boys chase a big score would be quite appealing.
That is an extremely strong batting line up when you consider Matt Henry would bat 8 for lots of teams.
@KiwiMurph I am not sure why the played the ODI in Wellington at the Basin, but I am glad they did. Much better atmosphere when the ground is packed.

Looks like we'll have a score to chase today
I hope so. Be good to see a big chase for us in the evening. I want to win but I also want to be entertained.

Shit yeah. Sri Lanka are not the kind of drawcard who would get the cake tin even half full. Basin is a much better option
Sri Lanka's had plenty of nice starts, their issue has been collapsing after the first wicket. Big test now.
Gutted for Nissanka, love watching a batter with a clean bat do well. Hopefully he makes it back out.
Henry with 150 ODI wickets. Excellent record.
SL 290/8 from their 50 overs.
Hopefully Eden Parks ridiculously short boundaries come into play when we bat
They were a bit average in the middle but Sri Lanka had a good start and finish, so 290 is a reasonable effort overall. Bit of scoreboard pressure on NZ - should be an interesting chase.
Latham in.
I’ve always found it an interesting quirk that Astle, Ryder and Guptil opened in short forms and batted middle order in tests whereas Latham does the opposite.
Without stating the obvious but doing exactly that someone needs a big score here.

…..and it wasn’t Latham.
Another brilliant catch and he’s gone for a duck.
They need just over a run a ball too.
….and as I type this Phillips continues not contributing anything much to the team.

Some very good catching from the Sri Lankans too.
They’re a different team than the last couple of matches. Absolutely fired up and everything is going their way.
We have batting to come but not enough for that kind of total.
Two of the most maligned NZ cricketers needing to manage the rebuild. I've slapped a cheeky $50 on Braces to top score.

Even maligned cricketers can turn things around…..
See Santner, Mitchell
Liyanage into the attack.
His average just came up, 190, fair to say the BCs should have a crack

Average probably just halved.

There’s some beer money gone
Chapman looking comfortable in an ocean of carnage according to Scott Stevenson.
Would be good if he could get a massive score

Indeed. That's punting though. Stoked to see Chapman look so good.
Mitchell, Latham and Bracewell can hang their heads in shame, poor poor shot selection when you’re already under the pump.
66/6 we are fucked.
66/3 not great either, but not terminal.

Chapman almost always looks amazing when he's in and playing classical shots. He's a very gifted cricketer.
If he gets us out of this I won't ever doubt him again.

I remember him at the 2010 U19 CWV at Lincoln. He was playing for Hong Kong as a 16 year-old I think. Looked up to it then too.
Chapman is a bit like Ravindra in that he looks beautiful when set.
aesthetically more pleasing than the mighty KW if I’m being honest.
