Fantasy Super Rugby

@KiwiPie I've started my climb, 1 week at a time, look out in 20 rounds!!

Paj

Started off great and been shit ever since.
Am pissed about players injured before game. I think there should an option to transfer out that player if theres another game on in round, or get average points for that position.

I had Sititi and flicked on just at kick off and didn't have option to transfer out.

Also, Perofeta supposedly a late injury, yet in post match interview B Barrett mentioned the coach had asked him if he could play 80mins the day before. Presume the knew then Perofeta wasn't playing.

Yeah it is frustrating, to do well in Fantasy you really need to be up with the play for all games, something that is unrealistic for most people.

I agree, they should have one injury replacement a week where you can swap out an injured player for a starting player in a later game.

No Quarter

I have noticed player value going up and down this season, so a step in the right direction there, but I can't see a history of that players value over time and exactly what day their new value is calculated each week. These are important if you want to maximise the value of your team, you need to transfer out players not playing the next week early before their value drops, and transfer in players that performed well early so you get the $ from their value increasing.

taniwharugby

still think they need to fix it by allowing you to pick some reserves who only come in, in the event of a last minute injury, such as last week, I had Toole in my side, but he didnt end up playing.

To be fair, the announcement on Toole not playing was made about 24 hours prior to kick-off, and then the match was also delayed by nearly 2 hours, so you had plenty of time in that regard. 😄

@Canes4life not if I dont follow headlines about non-NZ teams and then on the NZ teams it would only be if the weather is shite I might be in checking.

Yeah fair call, hopefully they bring in the replacement option next year. They should have done a survey to all Fantasy players last year to improve the experience.

taniwharugby

@Canes4life or it could just be as simple as giving you the average of all starting players in that position (if your guy was a starter) or if a bench, average of all the bench players in that position.

But hey, it is what it is, I aint coming last, presently....

Holy shit - how are you doing worse than me? I've forgotten to select my team twice - including the first week, so zero points....
(although it looks like it's giving me my average for subsequent weeks, in lieu of zero points? That's nice of them.)

And picking early in the week and not updating when the team is actually named ... fuck you Will Jordan and Corey Toole and Jared Proffitt

Plus not realising Dmac was back

And having a nightmare with player values fluctuating ...

And I'm not hovering over the phone awaiting line up changes before kick off ...

And general uselessness ...

Canes4life

Below is how the Ferner's Fantasy league sits after round 5. @bobily takes a slim lead after a solid round of 555 points. @jamesb was the big mover for the week with 635 points and that moves him up to second.

Some good match-ups this week so will be interesting to see who people select in their teams. I'm expecting quite a bit of a shuffle on the table by the time Sunday comes around.

Sure is, Dmac is spendy, Love is a fullback so you can't select him as a 10. Beaudy could be it as Blues are playing Tahs.

taniwharugby

@Canes4life I've gone for Pellegrini, although cold do the unlimited $$$ on DMac if you dont have enough....

Already used my boosters, so I'll likely slowly stumble down the table for the remainder of the season.

Bones

Having quite the turnaround in fortune this week, no boosters yet either.

Anyone understand how the limitless one actually works?

I'll post a weekly update shortly. Yeah, the limitless booster just means you have an unlimited budget to spend so can select anyone you want for a week.

I've obviously been too lazy to read the rules properly - is it only the same set budget every week?

Yep, 100M budget every week. When you use that limitless booster, you have an infininate number of $$ to spend.

Canes4life

After the completion of round 6, @antipodean and @bones had very strong weeks with 730 and 713 points respectively. @antipodean's big players were Fehi Fenanganofo and captain Jordie Barrett, while @bones big movers were Fehi and DMac (captain).

@bobily2 remained in poll position and currently holds an 8 points lead over @jamesb.

Hah, I was under the disillusion I could build my budget across the season with savvy trading. What a moran.

I too thought that was the point

@Bones same here, it made a lot of sense to me for it to be this way

After the completion of round 7, @dmoney and @taniwharugby had very strong weeks with 631 and 621 points respectively. They picked the try scoring machine Fehi Fineanganofo.

@bobily remained in poll position and currently holds an 16 point lead over myself in 2nd, with @jamesb in close pursuit 8 points behind in third.

I toyed with the idea of making him captain, but didnt....🤦

Team gutted for this weekend though!!

It's slim pickings this weekend with so many byes in play. I'm sure most Fantasy teams will be filled up largely with Chiefs, Crusaders and Reds players.

Just no. I let it slide last week, but two weeks in a row is hurty, especially since you actually follow F1.

Or did we all vote for him?

This is why we don't copy and paste from the previous week. Pole it is. 🙂

Round 8 in the books and I'm stoked to announce that I've managed to sneak back up to the top of the Ferner's Fantasy league standings after chipping away at both @bobily and @jamesb in the last two weeks.

I managed to get some good pay by picking Ben Donaldson, whereas many picked Carter Gordon at 10. That was pretty much the difference this week.

Quite a few players were caught out by the last minute Hotham injury, despite Chapman not scoring too many in the end.

@mikey_woa had the biggest shift this week scoring a very impressive 753 points. Captaining Fihaki was definitely a selection that paid dividends and has also meant he's now putting the heat on @bones for 8th position.

A really competitive round of games coming up which will likely spell yet more position changes prior to the next update. Goodluck everyone.

Bones

@Canes4life my co captains of Hotham and Jordan were going to do the business until that fucking last minute change. Boosters would've been a good difference maker this round.

Could have been onto something there, I originally had Hotham as my halfback as well. Felt like he was due a big game.

Canes4life

Another round of Super in the books and it's a fairly similar order to last week, @jamesb slipping down slightly to 4th, while @bobily and @kiwipie rise into positions 2 and 3 respectively.

@bobily went with an interesting but profitable strategy this week stacking his team with Fijian Drua and Force players which resulted in some good pay.

@kiwipie saw massive gains by picking the Chiefs triple threat of Tyrone Thompson, Dmac (captain) and arguably the most inform player in Super right now, Quinn Tupaea.

If only I'd gone for Taumoefolau instead of Carter for my 4th Chiefs player ....

Good call on Thompson, I had him in my side originally before I swapped him out last minute for George Bell. Lucky Bell ended in the points as well and the last Chief I added (Taumoefolau) scored plenty.

It's definitely a game of fine margins and decisions.

I started the week off poorly by picking three Brumbies players with a combined score of 30 points, lucky the rest of my weekend panned out okay.

Was out and missed most of the Blues/ Highlanders game, how did Lam get -1?
