Four players have opted out of Fantasy Super Rugby. Caleb Clarke (Blues), Sefo Kautai (Highlanders), Tuna Tuitama and Jonathan Taumateine (both Moana Pasifika) are the players to have opted out, according to rugby.com.au.

i assume they view it kind of like gambling or something?
Another consideration might be the level of abuse from fans that US players receive due to fantasy performance.
@Kiwiwomble said in Fantasy Super Rugby:
@KiwiMurph didn't know that was a thing, maybe yeah...people really are the worst
It's always really un-athletic people behind their keyboards that are the worst. Those sort of people that are probably still living in their Mum/Dad's basement that think they can somehow perform better without having played a pro game in their life.

The flip side is, good players have been really able to further their own brand
If it is about this, Im off to the GOM thread lol

I just read an article about similar online abuse. Our lowly ranked tennis players who play tiny tournaments get abused when they lose, from randoms who are betting on their games.
Having a look at some of the stats.
73.3% of players are picking Ardie Savea
66% of players are picking Will Jordan
59% of players are picking Cam Roigard, not surprising as he's a steal at 7.5M
54% of players are picking Damian McKenzie
Hooker is an interesting position to select because all of Codie, Asafo, Samisoni and George Bell could be missing from round 1.
I'll have to finalise my team once teams are named next week.

Yeah I am waiting until that point. And doing the dirties like trying to pick as many kickers as possible etc
@Canes4life the fact that 13% of people have selected Sititi suggests it is a smaller number who are just playing for th efun without knowing much about it.

question, and i think the answer is no as i cant see anythign...is there an app?
No app, just the website.
Looks like they have added a little cross to injured players to go with the one they had for players on a bye.

Oh sure, no profanity, but jump on in with your cultural appropriation and blackface.
Yeah thanks @Canes4life for setting up the conference, should be fun. I remember doing a fantasy rugby many years ago, think I was still a teenager, and it was similar to this except the budget was much lower so you'd have to select cheaper players you thought would score well. And if they did, you'd see their value rise as more people picked them so your team became worth more. On the flipside, if your players did badly their value would drop. One gothca was that you had to act fast when teams were selected or if players got injured as their value would drop sharply if they were not playing the next round and you could lose quite a lot of money if you didn't sell them quick enough. Hoping this one will be similar to that.

Is this right?
Coz if it is I'll never keep up.
I assume with players being ruled out on the day of the game this gives players the chance to make a last minute trade.
I’m also assuming like last year, all teams will be named at the same time.

No sweat, I’ll probs be down the bottom by the end of the season but it’s all a bit of fun.
I am officially dumber for having read Caleb Clarke's mealymouthed non-explanation for removing himself from Fantasy.
@Smudge You got me - I just had to go read it.
The first line of the "article" irritated me. And then indeed - mealymouthed non-explanation after nonsense say-nothing after vague bullshit. The ONLY conclusive thing he said was - not religion.
Is he aware that SuperBru has been doing a Fantasy Super Rugby thing for years - and he is very much available to be selected on that?
