T20 World Cup

Bones

@MN5 never heard of them. Maybe Lehman could make a comeback.

Chris is to Afghanistan what Booboo is to the black caps.

Not sure I can take too much responsibility for that craziness! 🙂

The game was won and lost about 10 times.

Each teams' resolve not to lose, matched only by their determination not to win!

Canes4life

Anyone watching the Aussie v Zimbabwe game? Well Aussie are about to get their arses kicked. Aus need 29 off 6 balls and only have 1 wicket left.

Canes4life

Zimbabwe win by 23 runs. Whoop.

Chris B.

@Canes4life No!

Thank god I didn't witness the great Australians get their arses handed to them by Zimbabwe.... 😢

Did Head keep his shades on in the interview to hide the tears?

i realise this is a sport forum, and we're all slightly weird, but genuine question, is anyone else you know aware that this tournament is taking place? I didn't know it had started until the day we lost to the Windies, didn't realise we'd already played a game, don't know when our next one is, haven't heard a single mention of it on tv, radio, even online. I've never cared about T20 but this feels even more ignored than usual.

I'm aware there was some noise about Pakistan and Bangladesh before the tournament as i listen to the Sky Cricket podcast but i don't really know what's happened. I have no idea how the tournament works (even though i had a look at the tables etc when i realised we were playing the Windies) and even if were winning, i would genuinely have no interest in finding out.

Genuinely curious if this is just a me thing, a UK phenomenon or whether this is true in other cricketing nations.

Bones

@Dodge first day of treatment a couple of weeks ago, as soon as he heard my accent about the second thing one of the techs said was "are you a cricket fan?".

One guess as to where he was from though.

Doesn’t help with the over saturation of T20 cricket especially the world cups. It’s not even been 2 years since the previous one. It’s about money it’s not about glory or being a special event looked forward to

Australia are 0-2 against Zimbabwe in t20 tournaments

Was aware, but I'm not 100% sure if I would have been aware and as engaged without a mad keen 12 year old fan in the house.

I did read a harsh but fair comment on the ABC Facebook page:

"The Loch Ness Monster has been sighted more times than Cam Green"

No Quarter

In the series against India in the leadup to the WC, I was far more interested in the ODI results than the T20 results. I still value that form of the game more, you need a better all round team to win. I've been watching a bit of this WC as the times of the first game are good, though there are a lot of shit games it seems. The finals should be better viewing.

I’m absolutely loving this tournament yes it’s hit and giggle but the chance to watch the minnows play I find a great watch. Like last night found myself watching the Zimbabwe Aus game instead of the Crusaders Highlanders game.

bayimports

So lost toss, NZ first game outside of Chennai too. Can we win the group? South Africa surely favourites lol

bayimports

Rabada keeping us quiet Ngidi pouring out runs..

Bones

Bugger, was starting to get fun

bayimports

Need to maintain momentum hopefully

bayimports

Allen almost holing out but now 30 off 13 lol

Bones

Yeah, just get Allen on strike, that's your job for now Rachin.

bayimports

Loving the rugby banter

bayimports

51/1 after 5. Rachin finding some runs even if lucky to be still in, hopefully finds some form

bayimports

Great catch and Rachin out at least he got a couple of runs, six was good just no patience, need a good little partnership now

bayimports

Allen throws his wicket away game starts to ebb back to bring South Africa back into this. Doull thinks 200 min needed on this deck

bayimports

Maharaj skittles Phillips NZ 64/4 and in a bit of trouble, game turned in two overs

bayimports

Moonhead jnr special required

Bones

Chapman shoulda gone, woulda been quite the catch, but insult to injury and it goes for four.

If that stayed in the hand and he didn’t go into the boundary would have been catch of tournament qualifier

bayimports

Mitch struggling with a bit of rhythm at the moment, Chapman looking more likely

Bones

That was horrible fielding by the saffa there. One of those moments that makes you wonder...

bayimports

Dew coming in to play now, ball skidding faster, saffa fielding pretty impressive apart from the last couple of balls

bayimports

2 good overs for NZ 29 runs total from them

Bones

Weird review, you clearly heard it hit the bat.

bayimports

Terrible review lol
