We need more from Mitch Jr - our kingpin - and Chapman.

Moonhead jnr would be disappointed probably in his own form of late, would be great for a change in form starting next game.
Satnav didn’t take any plaudits in Sri Lanka game interestingly pointed out his own 3 from 10 in previous game. So clearly players very aware

I wouldn't be that confident Duffy or Jamieson will have the same impact with the ball as Henry in the SF.
Yeah - generally not the choice you'd make - but, in the crapshoot - every dog may have his day.
Not sure whether I'd go Kyle or Jake - or how they'll go with Jimmy vs Ish or McConchie.
Somewhat think Ish's leggies might be more dangerous and Big Kyle might be more likely to extract top order wickets.
Seifert, Allen, Rachin, Phillips, Mitch Jr, Chapman, Santner, Neesham, Jamieson, Sodhi, Ferg for me, I think.
You could actually play Duffy for Neesh - and probably should.
Just trust the top 7 to get it done on the day.
If we bat first, I think you've just got to follow the lead of the Windies and our Olympic snowboarders and go big or go home.
Neesh has only batted once the whole tournament for 23 not out and his bowling is always a bit too heart in the mouth for my liking. I think they can do without him.

Sodhi doesn't get trusted enough - he is a point of difference.
I have to say that Ish makes me nervous as fuck when he bowls - but in winner take all crapshoots I like his risk and reward value.
He won't bowl 24 good balls, but he'll probably bowl half a dozen dangerous ones.
@Chris-B. said in T20 World Cup:
@Bovidae I reckon Neesh has been badly underused as a batsman over his career.
I wouldn't mind seeing him picked and batted at 3 as a pinch hitter.
I see merit in that and he can certainly hit but the team is pretty stacked in terms of batsmen. It's the bowling that is the worry hence the need to get as many decent guys in there to turn the arm over and put the pressure on.
@MN5 We're going to have Phillips and Ravindra as bowling cover - whatever happens,
And Satnav can bat at 7.
Just a question of who the other four main bowlers are.
Lockie is locked in - so three more from Ish, McConchie, Duffy, Jamieson, Neesham.
One of these guys might only have to bowl a couple of overs - some of them may not need to bat.
All part of the crapshoot.
Who have we got who can go big - with bat or ball?

gotta count the boundaries first
84/0 after 6 overs.
Need to go at 6s to win. Great stand by these two, going to take a miracle for SA to get up now.
Brutal, only 53 to get and both openers have individually scored more than that already.
Oh....here comes the collapse...

Cursed us.... lol
Should pull out the win from here.
Great opening stand from Seifert and Allen
Facing a tricky but not challenging total, it was a bit much to hope that both Seifert and Allen would fire. But we can win any game if they do.
Total copy paste from cricinfo, but too good not to share:
Some stats from Sampath on Finn Allen's 19-ball fifty
Fastest in a knockout at the men's T20 World Cup (Prev: Yuvraj Singh off 20 balls vs AUS, 2007)
Fastest for NZ at the men's T20 World Cup (Prev: Glenn Phillip off 22 balls vs CAN, 2026)
Fastest vs SA at the men's T20 World Cup (Prev: Shadab Khan off 20 balls in 2022)
@Darren said in T20 World Cup:
100 off 33 balls is just incredible
Hilarious to think how good Seifert was going for his 58...also off 33 balls.
14 balls faster than the next fastest World Cup century.
Then looking at all T20 international centuries, the innings looks a bit different to the ones above it.
i dont know who edits these highlight's packages but they deserve to be flogged and fired out of a cannon.
The quick edits like its a fucking tiktok clip make it almost unwatchable.
I do like the thumbnail, fucking hilarious
Also how good was Finn, his last 44 runs coming from just 12 balls.
@nzzp said in T20 World Cup:
170 is in the game. But one good innings and that's all she wrote
Finn Allen “hold my hat”
Game was basically won inside the first 10 overs when our bowlers had them 77/5
SA recovered well to post 169 but thats not likely to be a winning score. You need 200+ to be safe and you're not getting that when your top order is gone that early
Ok now that’s over let’s hope England can do everyone a massive favour and knock India out.
They’re a huge hurdle particularly at home.
