He isn't everyone's cup of tea but I really like Rigor.
Easy to forget he was one of our best openers ever too which always lends weight to his views.
@MN5 I didn't mind him either. He didn't take it too seriously - was usually quite entertaining.
I'd imagine he'd be able to do some radio commentary if he wants.
We'll presumably see Ian Smith back on the telly. Not sure who else Sky will resurrect. They had a really good commentary team before effing Spark stuck their oar in. Scott Styris seemed to just disappear. Doull went to India.
I hope they get some new faces in. I like Wags and Katey Martin of the spark/tvnz crew. Rigor could be good, but had a tendency to play into his grumpy codgy role a bit too much. Shane Bond did a little bit and was fantastic when he did.
Don't really miss any of the old sky crew. Doull and Smithy the only ones I really remember and they were fine. They briefly had Mike Hesson (I think it was just a guest stint in a single series shortly after he stepped down as black caps coach) who was fantastic.

Each to their own, I quite enjoyed his GOM persona and he took the ribbing from fellow commentators very well.
Hats are very sensible in the harsh kiwi Summer Sun.
As for Boycott well he was up himself, grumpy and ( probably unintentionally ) fun too, and his articles after England got hidings in the recent Ashes series were outstanding.
@Cyclops I really like Styris. I think he was just genuinely grumpy.
I'm pretty sure Rigor was part of the Sky team, along with Smithy, Doull, Styris, Cumming, sometimes Craig McMillan - and a few others like Hesson. They usually had good overseas guests especially from Sky UK - and maybe Debbie Hockley?
Jimmy Neesham will captain the Black Caps this evening as Tom Latham has been ruled out of the remainder of the series due to a thumb injury and Mitch Santner is being rested. Tom Blundell will join the squad as cover.

Wonder if that's a captaincy and maybe a farewell for the Neesh. Tonked with the ball, 6 off 8 with the bat.
Poor batting performance tonight. A slight worry that none of the newbies have looked like taking their chances, but early days. Combined with the Neesh playing the opposite of a Captains knock.
Making him captain was the worst option as he was guaranteed to bowl four overs. Four too many.

Definitely brave. I remember watching a replay of the Snedden catch. It was more regulation than that one, but his diving follow through made it more dramatic than it actually was. But it was a quality catch back then. That wasn't given....

Aren’t most of our good players over readying themselves for the IPL or PSL?
Look to be playing a similarly inexperienced line-up as last time.
I missed the first dozen overs, so never heard any team news.
Jaaps really putting our bowlers to the sword - not sure who's going to score the runs for us if Robinson doesn't!
