Harder being the main man than the bit player

He's always been injury prone. Had about three or four seasons mainly injury free and showed what he can do.

And dare I say it, Kane is starting on the slippery slope that begins once they reach the career phase of picking and choosing when they'll play.

Hopefully he'll still have a few legendary innings to go, but I fear they'll be fewer and further between...

Just seen the highlights again.

Not much wrong with the pitch. Five of the Black Caps top order (and our specialist keeper) either couldn't read or play for inswing. And Kane had little idea in his dismissal.

Yep, he has a test 50. Looked like a promising all rounder initially, till his batting got exposed a bit.

Apparently Matt Henry is padded up and will bat next. He will warm up to bowl and see if he can bowl
