DMac has a sabbatical option in 2028 so the starting 1st 5 position could be open.
Can see a Japan-based 10 coming home for 2028 when McKenzie leaves - Kaleb Trask maybe?
Tiaan Falcon has just finished up with Nagoya but hasn't been playing 10.

Tiaan has signed with Yokohama to my understanding.
Edit: Just saw the comment above lol

Strange he signed to 2028
Just to clarify; are you referencing his Crusaders extension that he signed through 2028 here or do you have oil that he's instead signed a 2-year with the Chiefs?

Crusaders extension

Yep, just making sure Chris is saying "that is strange, as he is already under contract" rather than saying "it is strange he's instead signed a different deal where his path to the 10 jersey is also blocked". I imagine it's the former but it could be read both ways.
@ploughboy Ah bugger, he's a big loss. Injury-prone but good when he could string some games together.
Really don't know what the option at 10 is. Cook-Savage is 25 and is fine but probably not the level required to be a tournament-winning flyhalf. It's a pity because the Chiefs will have a strong squad for years to come but you need a quality flyhalf to link it all together.

yes he has just re-signed with the evil empire but the long term re-signing of Mo'unga potentially has him rethinking. As always, take with a grain of salt, but the oil is good.
A bunch of you guys didn't read my original post very well eh. Again, nothing is ever concrete but the oil is good

Have some oil that Taha Kemara is coming home,
That sentence sounds like Kemera is definitely going to the Chiefs.
Hard to see Kemara moving to the Chiefs, the guy has pretty much solidified himself as the preferred option ahead of Reihana, was much better this season. Mo'unga only signed for 18 months, I expect those 18 months will be all she wrote for him in NZL. Not sure why he'd sign to 2029. World Cup will likely be all he's wanting and then will finish his career in Japan.
Kemara to the Chiefs would be his current Crusaders situation but worse. Dmac will go a lot longer than Mo'unga will, why play 2nd fiddle to Dmac till possibly end of 2031 when you can play starting 10 in 2028 and beyond if the 18 months is it for Richie?

This is what you said. Dmac is signed until 2029 with a sabbatical in 28. The rumours are Mo'unga is about to re-sign for the Crusaders until 2029, along with that comes the rumour Kemara coming to the Chiefs and getting out of contract early. Nothing is concrete until it's concrete. The Mo'unga rumour is from @chris who always has the good oil. The Kemara one that I posted comes from a good source, but again, nothing is concrete til its concrete. Welcome to the Fern.
For sure and totally get you guys have good sources, apologies if I'm sounding incredibly dumb but logics wise neither move makes sense. My point is Kemara going to the Chiefs is the same role he'd have at the Crusaders with maybe one year as starting FH if Dmac takes his sabbatical and that's it, he'd still be playing the same amount of minutes. Arguably Reihana should be the one to head to the Chiefs, no? He's been there before and is the 3rd choice of the fly halves for the Crusaders imo especially after how Kemara performed in the second half of the season.
Also I suppose how Mo'unga is placed by Rennie is what will determine whether he extends to 29 or not. If he's a 3rd or 4th pick FH he won't stick around surely, he might if he's a 2nd choice and that's likely to be the best he'll get. I don't see him moving ahead of Love at least anytime soon.
Maybe I'm very wrong and again apologies if I'm sounding incredibly dumb, just very much out of the loop and certainly new here.
