Match thread

Bovidae

More BS from the TMO over what meets a RC. Horie should have been having an early shower.

MiketheSnow

Christ when are they going to learn

Really enjoying the match

Think Samoa’s chance May have gone

MiketheSnow

If Japan had played like this against England they would have beaten them

This whole yellow card thing for HC isn't working.
Just make it an after match review and stand down the player down for the next game, stop ruining the contest!!!

Jailbreak7

Have they forgotten to check for HIAs now

The inconsistencies in and around cards beggars belief

Bovidae

Jonker the Plonker strikes again. No consistency across the games.

How did the ref and liney miss that?

Jailbreak7

Hes older now but Leitch still looks like he could have slotted into the ABs for leadership qualities alone.

MiketheSnow

Based on this performance I can see Japan beating Argentina and going through

no its consistent..... consistently inconsistent..... just a farking mess -literally brings game in to disrepute..

Not for one moment am I defending the head contacts - but I struggle to see how they consistently fark it up

Stargazer

I really don't understand how Horie's card stayed yellow, but Lam's gets upgraded to red. IMO both should have received red.

Jonker is not the bunker ref. If you’re going to give out at least know how the system works.

I do, and I am not condoning it. There was a slight dip in Horie's case, head to head. Lam's was a straight shoulder to head with a higher degree of danger.

It has to come back to the human factor -- unconscious bias vs conscious bias.... I personally think there is a bit of both at play...

Remember its only a few weeks ago Farrell got down graded .......and then consider some of the non-citing's ...... Its a bloody mess

No clear release whatsoever, not condoning the Samoans frustrations but can totally understand

oh dear --- Samoa butchered a certain try there

booboo

Knock on. Deliberately

Now you are talking bollocks, he had both hands down to grab it and one arm was hit by the Samoan players

booboo

Ok, not deliberate

Yep you can and I can call it bollocks

Why weren't Samoa playing like this the whole game!

MiketheSnow

McFarland turning this match

booboo

Offside from the not-deliberate knock on by Samoa

Japan used to be the offloading/quick passing kings, that has really fallen away

booboo

Only 10 in it. Take the points.

booboo

Try Samoa. And now it's 6 points. 90secs left

Samoa dangerous as when they just pick and smash in the centre, knocking the Japs back like ten pins

Billy Tell

Samoa were their own worst enemy. So many unforced errors especially knock ons.

Those changes needed to be made much earlier especially at halfback

MiketheSnow

Cracking watch

Credit to both teams

Jaco did very well

Let down by TMO

Well looking at those points on the table, my predicitions for the A B pools are looking great
Ire>SA
Fr>NZ
for C D pools not so much
OZ>Wales (probably Wales>Fiji)
Eng>Arg (probably Eng>Japan)

Indeed, tho I am very unsure how both him and the liney missed Lam's tackle right in front of them

Bovidae

@Billy-Tell I know there is another nameless TMO but I can't criticise them if I don't know who they are. 😉

The Horie tackle was no different to Ta'avao's, and we know how that ended.
