Yeah I can't entirely wrap my head around it either. As I say, would've probably had Taine Kolose involved in some shape or form. He and Aisake Vakasiuola will be the sole members of the original squad who haven't played any minutes this year

Gibbes is quoted today in saying that Kolose is injured and Vakasiuola "was still on a learning curve at this level".

Quite fascinated to see how we go with Segner as captain. As good as he has been playing he just doesn't have the tackle workrate of Papali'i. (Not many players do tbf)

Papali'i is the key to the Blues defence. He is close to the top of the those stats and rucks year in year out across Super Rugby.

Players waiting to pilfer all the time usually aren't making the same amount of tackles.

We've won 40% of games this year when Segner is playing openside and 75% when Papali'i has been playing openside.

It's a positive that Barnes is being partnered with Segner. Barnes is close to Papali'i in tackle work rate and 2nd of the loose forwards in this facet. Barnes also has the highest amount of dominant tackles for the Blues.

Looking forward to seeing how this trio with Wrampling go again together. This combo worked well defensively against the Drua.

Bones

Geez that was a bit shit Sullivan

KiwiMurph

Good crowd in Hamilton

Bones

Boom boom Barnes! Go you good thing

KiwiMurph

Nice work Barnes

Bones

Interesting to see Sullivan kicking. Guess he'll be joining Barnes...

KiwiMurph

Clarke does all the hard work and then spills it

Barnes is impressive

Bones

That was an atrocious scrum. Luckily for the blues... Jacomb

Yeetyaah

Guess I shouldn't have expected much from this game but it's still irritating to o watch

Bones

That's a better kick Zarn

That’s a poor throw from Mullan he can’t throw deep

KiwiMurph

Mullan is shit

Bones

Pretty sure Finau can't tackle Sullivan there...

Bones

Loving Nock with the proper Maori halfback look

Stats can say anything. The only team the Blues have lost to this season with BB starting is the Canes.

I rest my case.

Yeetyaah

Exit you fucking speds

Bones

That was a dodgy as turnover by Ahki

That should have been a penalty on the Segner turnover Finau was holding on for dear life

Mr Fish

You forget how hodge podge this Chiefs backline is until they pass the ball through the hands. No leaders at all in there.

KiwiMurph

Blues dont have enough clinical edge this year

Should have way more points than 7 in this game

Could be headed into the playoffs on the back of two losses. Not great for momentum

You are down 7 points. Settle down.

SouthernMann

Great kick Jacomb. Like that from him

Bones

Can't help but think Jacomb should have been a second five.

I would pull Mullan if he can’t get his throwing in right now..it’s killing the visitors

Bones

Beehre has been busy, good to see

Yeetyaah

Blues cynical as fuck at ruck time not being pinged

taniwharugby

@Steven-Harris no excuse for a fulltime professional to be poor at his core role...shame cos when fit, the rest of his game is good

Dont think anyone in Chiefs country will be too worried about this result whatever happens. Dead rubber for the Chiefs which is why they've thrown out the b-team.

On replay Cortez just had tits for hands

canefan

Blues have had 4-5 entries into the 22 and only scored once. In a big game they need to convert more

Why the cross kick from Perofeta under advantage?
Does my head in ,channeled BB

Bring back Beauden

And one more. Perofeta ruins another attacking chance

Is it BB or is it Cotterball? Either way, it's losing footy
