Why are the Aussie women 7s so good but the 15s so underwhelming? I don't pay close attention to the women's game (but do watch bf test matches) so I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on it.

The programs are run entirely separately.
And as the 7's have had success (olympics) they get more money.
The programs are to be merged, expect a big effort to get competitive for RWC 29 (in Aus).

Not something I follow either but I know the Aussie womens sevens program recruited from a variety of sports (athletics, hockey etc). Basically taking athletes and teaching them how to play the short version of the game
That might help explain why the 7s fortunes are independent of the XVs health?

Anyone been reading anything on the Rebels case against RA? To me someone who has not much legal clues it looks as though the Rebels case is falling apart real fast.
Seems the Rebels saying if they had known that RA wouldn't of bailed them out they would of gone into Liquidation in June 2023 instead of December. As they owe about $30 mill, I not sure that is a great argument, as RA still paid all the wages of players for the years. Also seems they as part of that also paid the Rebels the money for the players wages tax bill, and Rebels board forgot to forward that or lat couple of years to Aussie tax department?

The fact that Dan McKellar has also fallen on his sword suggests it might not be Catt's 'foreign-ness' that was the issue...
McKellar did OK with the Brumbies so maybe it's NSW rugby that is the problem, not the coach.

Perhaps the coach doesn't have that much impact in certain environments? The Brumbies are typically a high-performing team and his record was covid impacted - possibly making him better than he seemed. He also had Laurie Fisher as assistant.

SR (and all union dom pro rugby) is already dead as far as the NRL concerned
PVL should buy it with his loose-change, and finish it off
but the wallabies (and ABs) are never going to die
even after this new NRL deal, the Wobs and ABs are still going to be able to compete for the best league talent
not thinking jarome is one of the guys that should be a target tho

I've not been particularly impressed with what I've seen of Teddy Wilson to date. Good ball runner but seems to lack most of the core halfback skills? The Waratahs certainly looked considerably worse with him at 9, compared with Gordon.
Sounds like Ikitau also won't feature in the two matches against Japan. Even if he were fit, however, this is probably a good opportunity to build some depth in the midfield.
