I'd like to see Robertson focus more on bringing his oft-praised skills in developing players to the fore rather than relying on overseas-based players returning to NZ. Use older, returning players like Barrett to impart experience for sure, but only as a short-term thing.

He's got 4 years, plenty of goodwill and access to the top players in NZ. Might be a few uncomfortable losses along the way as he builds and develops, but needs time/space to get on with it.

I'm totally on board with Razor but I felt that article told me a whole bunch of nothing (which is fine - there isn't much to tell at this stage).

@KiwiMurph yeah I gave up halfway through as it was just recapping the past year and adding the odd Razor quote which paraphrased as "I'm a coach who is going to coach".

Yep. Give the bloke a chance. Only been in the role for a few weeks and people are expecting deep, profound insights and predictions of certain glory.

I'm totally on board with Razor but I felt that article told me a whole bunch of nothing (which is fine - there isn't much to tell at this stage).

problem is the campaign run forhim/by him for the last 4 year meaning theres nothing new to know

I am completely on board with Razor ( as I am with all AB coaches), but have to agree looked very much like that was an Eddie Jones type thing last night. I am here now and it's going to be about me?
I do say probably wasn't what it was about at all, but something that struck me when Mrs said to me doesn't it sound like he is making it all about himself? Just could well of been how it was editted or questions were asked by Sumo.

TV1 broadcasts a special segment on "Sunday" about Scott Robertson.

Typical GOM Fern: it was too much about Scott Robertson.

Razor came off well in the video I thought.

@Stargazer yep mate as I said it was also maybe how questions were answered etc, and to be fair as you say it was program about him, and perhaps I just not overly keen on programs on coaches before they startedjob? Could be good as got us thinking rugby.

The temptation for a new coach is to miss lessons learned (not gonna use the other stupid word) during the previous tenure in the rush to stamp their own mark. If he's taking the time to debrief the senior players that is a good sign to me

im sure its been done before. i would be more surprised if they didnt

A bit of a fluff piece, but he spoke really well. And really hit on some points - gotta embrace modern sports engagement, you’re a public figure and you will be judged. Also ‘there’s a percentage against your name’. Stuff that has not been talked about previously, but really needs to be (trying not to Foster moan!)

@booboo Scott Barrett is 1.97cm tall and goes just fine at test footy. There are more out there than those 3.

Most young locks lack the size, I’m sure it will come eventually and once they are under the supervision of Nic Gill and being prepared for test rugby and not just NPC/super rugby.

One person criticises something about a segment that aired.

Typical GOM definitely not one of the most ardent Crusaders fans: Typical whole TSF.

There's certainly a lot of hype and excitement around Robertson.

On the other hand, it's understandable given his record.

I'd follow this man through fire.

I'm a fan of reading statements like this:

"The kicking game is so critical, the defensive game and the discipline. So how can you embed those core things early? You can be open to all information or be really, really clear.

You just bolded all the weaknesses from the last tenure, and the things that stopped us winning the final. Fix that without sacrificing quality game breaking players to do it, and we are well on our way
