England will be a tough opponent and given the nature how they play just all out, a massive win or loss could be on the cards. They havenโt been playing at this venue which does help.
For me Jofra and Overton the pick of their bowlers. But Rashid likely to have a field day on this deck.
Satner believed last night best way of attack is not blast from ball one, but letโs see, canโt see either side not doing that.

huh?
they crushed the Windies pretty easily
Zimbabwe unfortunately couldnt continue their upsetting ways and were pretty well beaten by India

Was watching (on Cricinfo) a bit of the Windies last night and I think they've probably got the tactics we need to employ (assuming we make the semis).
They were going hard and just kept going hard regardless that wickets fell. Against SA and India, I think we probably have to do that - just roll the dice on the day - because a mediocre score won't be enough.
Might be able to refine that if we play WI. A bit different vs England, because we obviously don't want to get thrashed.
If we make the finals we're going to need more from Seifert and Allen than we've got in the past several games.

@Virgil T20 is always gamble.
SA are the form team but it's T20, there's really no such thing as a choke, every game is a bit of a crap shoot where one player coming off can win the whole game. Would be cool for you guys to get the WTC and T20 cups at the same time, we JUST missed out on having all three at one point, "losing" to England in the ODI final then losing to Mitch Marsh in the T20 final after winning the WTC.

Accurate post.
Whoever wins the whole thing ( apart from maybe Zimbabwe ) it's not like it will be a huge surprise or upset.
If NZ won it i would consider it both a huge surprise and an upset
Making the semis or even final? No shock. Lifting the trophy? WTF?

Yeah fair enough if you put it like that but with Australia out of the running it's probably less of a WTF moment. Mind you the BCs have stumbled so many times in the past.
Better give NZ the same odds as Zimbabwe to be safe.

Those greedy feckers have got more than enough cups!
If they win another Cup in the next 10 years it will be too soon!

For a start the game against England is in Sri Lanka and the pitch might as well be on a different world, it plays significantly different.
If we make the semis they will be in India and going hard makes sense

Well at least we wonโt have to play Australia
@bayimports Actually, I wasn't disagreeing with you - just triggered my thought from last night that the Windies have probably got the right recipe for teams that are not favourites.
@Chris-B. Actually think we also had right mix when we were in Chennai. South Africa for me rightly favourites, their fielding alone is a level above the remaining teams.
Probably for me thatโs the key difference. Batting and bowling any of the remaining teams on their day could ice it.
Flying back to Sydney later so Iโm going to join the rest of you not watching in local hours โฆsigh
@bayimports After our effort vs Sri Lanka, I wonder whether it's a pity we're not staying in Colombo.
Pitch seemed to suit our host of part time spinners!
Be a shock for sure., yet we have been in 2 ODI WC finals, all but won 2019s edition.
Made the final of the last Champions Trophy and won the first Test Championship, winning that final
While I donโt think T20 is our best format still feels slightly unfair to write us off as no chance to win anything

In the spirit of helpfulness, I'm sure we can find a few good reasons why you should turn over at least a couple of those RWCs to us!
Got up and watched the last 5 overs.
Fuck.
59 off five on that surface was a tough ask. Phillips got hit. T20 is this: two sixes clear fielders on the rope - slightly underhit and NZ win. But that's frustrating to lose from there.
A close loss, whatever the circumstances, is like a win. NZ still have a healthy NRR advantage over Pakistan.

Positive have to
Chase in 13.1 overs
Win by 64 runs
In SL we trust

OK, so that's how much Pakistan need to win by ? So they win but chase in 15 or win by 50 runs NZ are through ?
Huge ask to dish out a hiding of that magnitude.

Yeah I didn't wanna say this but thought someone would.
Bloody Inzy. I'll never forget 92.
Pretty disappointing.
We let them off the hook twice - after 14 overs we were 123/3 and only managed 36/4 in our final six overs. A better finish would have set 180+.
Then the last three overs were obviously a disaster.
Was only watching on Cricinfo, but I did wonder whether they would/should go back to an over of pace in the 16th or 17th over - just to see what would happen and because I thought they'd have to bowl Henry or Ferg at some point, anyway. With the benefit of hindsight, I'm sure they would - but Rachin did so well in the 16th...
Unfortunately, assuming we get through, we'll have to play SA - I'll be annoyed if England get WI. Not too much difference playing SA or India IMO.
Playing without Matt Henry won't help.

This is a great post reinforcing what underdogs we are. Good stuff
Ah so just got off plane looks like we bottled it. Hopefully Sri Lanka feel they have something to play for

Modern T20. Sixes either go over the fielder or get caught on the boundary. Two in the last 5 overs I watched... Slightly under hit those and NZ win

Nothing
It was not looking good for a while there, thankfully SL got their arses into gear.
Just hope the run chase doesn't fall apart.
Was that a Pakistani commentator? "Boundaries don't matter, only 6's matter, he can hit as much boundaries as he wants"
What a cockhole, he only needs to hit two 6's you knob jockey, the rest only need to be 4's.
Last 2 deliveries about the widest you'll see, first was just inside the teams on the full, second was off the pitch.
No call. What a load of shit.

Not the mocking I expected from someone that's delicate.
