Might bring tears to a few eyes.
Especially @virgil
Lovely tribute.
I still remember the day at Eden Park when Marty came out onto the field during the interval of the New Zealand v Australia cricket world cup pool match. The noise and the feeling of love for him was huge. He lapped it up with grace. A lot of dust around that day
I was at the Basin when he got out for 299, too young to remember much at all, but one memory that sticks with me is he just ran off the field back to the changing shed while us kids were trying to get his attention haha. I don't think I realised the significance of getting out for 299 at the time so wondered why he didn't acknowledge anyone. I understand he smashed like 20 bats after that? I would have smashed about 100 if it were me!
That's a lovely tribute from England, really nice to see

I definitely remember hearing him smash the one he used out in the middle when he walked around the corner of the tunnel
If Duckett and Bethell are the first two wickets to fall the commentators could have all sorts of awkward moments with the names of the two guys at the crease.

Luckily, we caught the Gay and he's been sent packing.

There goes that moment ruined, thanks a lot Jamieson !

......if only to see the names together on the scoreboard.....
Reminds me of when this happened.....

Good to see Jamieson strike early and keep that ridiculous average under 20.
That really is an extraordinary figure. He is definitely tailor made for the longest format of the game.
England have quite a bit of batting to come though.

Not with this weather...

Simon Doull lashed county cricket a few minutes ago. Circa 11.17pm for those who are recording
Nasser just ignored him
O'Rourke with a beauty of an LBW. Not sure what the on field Umpire was seeing there, as that was dead set plumb.
@Darren said in Black Caps Test Tour to England & Ireland:
England's lowest score is 122, looks like they will get past that at least, maybe just
117/8
Bowling England out in half a day for 122 would be pretty epic...

Yeah, well, fuck cricket.
Who wants to watch this shit?
Cricket seems to have a death wish.

An especially bad day for trying to ask the English OH's dad if there's any cricket on at 5pm, when usually you're getting bombarded if the black craps are crapping.
@Bones said in Black Caps Test Tour to England & Ireland:
At least we avoided the follow on. Amazing batting.
And we didn't beat our own record for lowest ever Test score.
"Kiwi! Kiwi! Kiwi!"

Mitchell and Phillips hitting 5 figures is something else.
What the fuckety fuck is going on ?
61/6 ?
Are the top order jet lagged from the flight from Ireland ?
Well done Jamieson on a terrific Michelle.

How many does Kylo need to make the honours board? 10?

Five. HE's on it now. A century or 5 in an innings I believe.

another five and a 50 and he could do a Dion Nash !
He only needs three wickets to beat Shane Bond and assuming he doesn't concede a million runs whilst getting them he'll beat Bonds outstanding average too......Jamieson continues to be an absolute test superstar when he isn't broken. Why do our truly elite fast bowlers always break ? this shit never happened across the ditch with Glenn Mcgrath, Pat Cummins etc.
I also hope ( in what looks to be a low scoring game ) Henry has some angry pills from not getting a wicket in the first innings.
Losing Henry was a big blow, very likely we would have rolled them for less given the conditions if he could bowl more overs. In Glen Phillips we trust.
