Black Caps Test Tour to England & Ireland

If Duckett and Bethell are the first two wickets to fall the commentators could have all sorts of awkward moments with the names of the two guys at the crease.

Luckily, we caught the Gay and he's been sent packing.

There goes that moment ruined, thanks a lot Jamieson !

Hopefully it happens once in the series

......if only to see the names together on the scoreboard.....

Reminds me of when this happened.....

Good to see Jamieson strike early and keep that ridiculous average under 20.

That really is an extraordinary figure. He is definitely tailor made for the longest format of the game.

England have quite a bit of batting to come though.

Simon Doull lashed county cricket a few minutes ago. Circa 11.17pm for those who are recording

Bones

Duckett gone.

Root Bethell at the crease. Hahaha that's hilarious

Donsteppa

O'Rourke with a beauty of an LBW. Not sure what the on field Umpire was seeing there, as that was dead set plumb.

Donsteppa

Now Nathan Smith gets carried away with a shocker of a review, a massive inside edge.

Donsteppa

Was a tough chance, but can't afford to drop Brook it seems.

England's lowest score is 122, looks like they will get past that at least, maybe just

117/8

Bones

Yeah, well, fuck cricket.

Bones

13 wickets in half a day at like less than 4 runs an over?

Bones

England better up their ante. At this rate we might even score 20. Watch out world.

It’s a day for bowling. Very hard batting under lights on a grey day at Lords.

sparky

What a dog of a cricket wicket and disgusting weather too.

Home of Cricket? Bollocks to that.

I love the days where the ball is on top, it’s great viewing. The games not only for batsmen.

Watching batsmen have to dig in and really fight is gripping.

Test cricket is best cricket

Bones

At least we avoided the follow on. Amazing batting.

How many does Kylo need to make the honours board? 10?

Five. HE's on it now. A century or 5 in an innings I believe.

another five and a 50 and he could do a Dion Nash !

He only needs three wickets to beat Shane Bond and assuming he doesn't concede a million runs whilst getting them he'll beat Bonds outstanding average too......Jamieson continues to be an absolute test superstar when he isn't broken. Why do our truly elite fast bowlers always break ? this shit never happened across the ditch with Glenn Mcgrath, Pat Cummins etc.

I also hope ( in what looks to be a low scoring game ) Henry has some angry pills from not getting a wicket in the first innings.

No Quarter

Losing Henry was a big blow, very likely we would have rolled them for less given the conditions if he could bowl more overs. In Glen Phillips we trust.

Nasser just ignored him

What did he have to say?

Just ignored the line of discussion. They were talking about England's lack of toughness in recent times. Doull was wondering if county cricket wasn't cutthroat enough because the comp is so big. Compared Oz and NZ domestic comps, said these were tougher because the numbers were smaller and guys were desperate to show out with less opportunities. Nasser just looked into the distance then went on about how they performed so badly in Australia last season

frugby

Henry starting to pick up a lot of injuries.

Here we go blaming the pitch. How about blaming some terrible shot choices? Williamson's dismissal was really the only one where the bowler actually got him out the other dismissals were just poor decisions.
Play with a straight bat and maybe let a few balls go through to the keeper. No need to try and smack every ball to the boundary its test cricket after all. This T20 shit has stuffed players abilities to play genuine cricket shots when it's needed.
