Spain conceded just one goal all tournament to Belgium. That's pretty amazing - deserved winners.
@No-Quarter Their xG against chart is all-time great. Portugal had 0.88 xG vs them and that was their highest in the tournament. They completely clamped France (0.3) and Argentina (0.2).
@booboo Expected goals. So its a statistical probability of a chance being converted into a goal. Every chance is measured between 0 and 1 - 0 means impossible and 1 means certain goal. All shots in a match are given a score and those scores are added to give a total at the end of the game. Argentina had an xG of 0.2 today which set a record for lowest in a World Cup final. They had 0 until the last 10 mins of extra-time I believe.

Spain more than deserved the win, felt like they had 15 players on the pitch they had so much ball. Argentina stoic in defense but I'm glad Spain won in extra time as at 20 shots to 0 at one stage before the first goal penalties just didn't seem right.
Spain were the most dominant and consistent team all tournament, well deserved.

Atleast in a RWC final both sides are trying to score.
That game last night was a non event. Argentina didn’t try to score, looked like they decided to play for penalties from the start.
My son said it was the first WC final he’s watched that didn’t feel like a WC final.
The fact there were very few true fans in amongst all the corporates and celebrities made the atmosphere very flat.
But at least fifa made more money from it.
