Spain more than deserved the win, felt like they had 15 players on the pitch they had so much ball. Argentina stoic in defense but I'm glad Spain won in extra time as at 20 shots to 0 at one stage before the first goal penalties just didn't seem right.

Spain were the most dominant and consistent team all tournament, well deserved.

Looking at that last footage of the Argies, they're just such a hateful miserable team.

Yeah, but that game was embarrassingly bad.
Atleast in a RWC final both sides are trying to score.
That game last night was a non event. Argentina didn’t try to score, looked like they decided to play for penalties from the start.

My son said it was the first WC final he’s watched that didn’t feel like a WC final.

The fact there were very few true fans in amongst all the corporates and celebrities made the atmosphere very flat.

But at least fifa made more money from it.

I agree - the Argies aren't mugs and they were reduced to kicking and playing for pens for obvious reasons. France have great players but Spain were the better team - I wish the ABs were regarded in the same manner as Spain in footie.

@Steven-Harris I think they will struggle to replace Rodri once he loses his legs. He is the key and I think he will probably start to decline in 2 years. Players like him rarely come around, Spain are lucky they've had two in the past twenty years.

Rodri is quality, but Busquets takes him to the cleaners.

The thing that I love about how Spain play is how their keeper plays off his line to take away long balls over the top and enable them to play a high line if they want to.

It nullfies the pace of the other teams fastest strikers and wingers because it makes the pitch smaller and forces teams to play through the midfield.

Spain basically held both France and Argentina to crumbs. The best I recall Argentina having was Simeone from the corner with about one minute left. Dembele, Messi, Olise and Mbappe starved of ball and opportunities.

They've always been scum. Brazil were the kings of the beautiful game, Argentina the kings of the dark arts when I was a kid
