Havili is in the Christie category for me. Both handy to have around when there's an injury crisis. Both don't make my ABs squads but you know, if there's a big injury toll, then it's nice that we can call upon these guys.
Have added Kurt Eklund to the Blues confirmed departures.
Hopefully we see teams formally announcing who will be leaving shortly. The Highlanders didn't do it last year, which was disappointing. With the confirmed re-signings you'd think the next step is to confirm departures before announcing new arrivals.
@SouthernMann You’d think even if they don’t do it for the whole squad a bloke like DLB who’s the most capped forward in the club’s history would get a farewell post.

Is he not hanging around?
@African-Monkey Nothing fully confirmed. But process of elimination would say likely yes. @SouthernMann would have the most up-to-date numbers, but we've been told a dozen guys are off.
Given Millar, Haig, Kautai, Vikena, Renton, Lowe, Knewstubb, Robinson, Telea, and Lowe are either confirmed or all but confirmed, that leaves two remaining blokes from the four we don't know about: DLB, Cribb, Broughton, and Howden.
There's been some chat that Cribb is around next year, so it's probably one of Broughton or Howden leaving, and my guess would be DLB.
But equally, if anyone can survive, it'd be DLB. The ultimate journeyman. He seems like part of the furniture down south.

You are trying to manifest what you want by continuing to mention Cribb. It was highly likely that Cribb picked up a two year deal for 26/27. He is there next year.
DLB is all but confirmed. With the top group. Apparently has been mentioned on private social channels or at least hinted at. He is the devil we know however, which means if we can't land a loosehead he might get another reprieve.
Mate It’s getting a bit old, you having a go every time I reply to a thread about the highlanders.
We have different opinions on a few players. That’s good. This place thrives off people who have different opinions. However I haven’t raised that here, just answered the question on players who’s contract status is unclear, then tagged you to double check if I’d missed anyone on the contracting list.
You’re capable of being pleasant. Why not choose to be?
@SouthernMann that’s news to me. But hence why I tagged you in the first place. If he’s on a two year deal then good to know.
The ‘jokes’ don’t come off as jokes. Don’t see a reason need to block anyone, when a simple conversation about communicating better should solve it.

I heard DLB most likely gone - so confirmed leaving or staying?
Cribb said he was back next year, doesn't mean he can't get his contract ripped up, but I'd say that would be unlikely - and equally dumb considering his age.
feels like a real hollowing out year. 3-4 AB standard players, at least a dozen who are guaranteed Super level starters on top of that. All at once.
potentially what happens when selection for higher honours gets....murky...not connected with form
Every year we will lose some that we want to keep. This year seems we are seeing some lads read the room and think fuck it, we are off.
From a Highlanders perspective I am pretty happy with the guys who are moving on. None would be starting players in 2027. Which has to be a win.
The interesting numbers will be post 2027. How many guys will be looking overseas affer the world cup or if they don't get an AB shot.

@Kiwiwomble lets be honest here DLB and Havili weren't displaying AB standard form this year.
Havili had a very good season. But .happy the selectors have moved on
