Bazball !
This is how test cricket should be played.
Five days can get fucked, a test isn’t a test if it goes into the third day.

Fucken hell, one final bit of drama. Root out LBW to Richardson.
Stokes in, clutch player. He’ll do it.

My normal formula for when a chase is beyond doubt is when runs remaining/(wickets in hand - 2) is below ten. Right now that's 35/(6-2) or a little under 9. But there's no way this is settled - these are going to as tense as you get.
17/(5-2) = 5.66 ... ???
Those extras not helping Australia's cause... Leg byes are tough to control but byes and no balls are poor.

Joe Root's poor series and poor record in Australia continues.
Yep, that’s why all this GOAT shit irks me. He’s not.

4 in the hutch
Atkinson has a buggered hamstring so he will require a runner and will bat on one leg.

Didn't think runners were allowed anymore?

Yeah same.
One thing here is because Carse came in at 3 England bat slightly deeper.
Leg byes.
England win their first Test in Australia in 15 years.
They've prevented the whitewash.
@sparky said in Ashes 2025/6:
So who wins the moral Ashes?
Would be a massive upset for England to lose. They've held them for so long. Last time the Australians managed a Moral Ashes Victory was probably 2005 when Ricky Posting managed to salvaged an unlikely win when Gary Pratt ran him out.
@sparky said in Ashes 2025/6:
@Godder Certainly not the MCG head groundsman.
Indeed, although he didn't cause 23 extras when defending under 200 either.

Boring.
Someone else got the joke. If you don't like my posts, don't read them.
I really wish I could block you. Such a shame I can't.

Add in 15 - 20 ish wides and it'd be a full junior scorecard

Oh I got the joke. It's obvious. So fucking obvious. Like every post you make.
First Test win in Australia for Joe Root and Ben Stokes after lots of attempts.
Perhaps their last one too.

@Smudge Thank you for your feedback.
Clearly there are other people who enjoy them. So I'll keep posting here.
There are a multitude of live scoring sites and/or apps. We don't need you breathlessly updating every minute.
Bit of a coming-of-age performance by Josh Tongue 7-89 in this Test. Bowled it in the right spot.
Australia's bowling performance was not as strong as the first three Tests. The injuries caught up with them in this dead rubber.
"Bazball", confident aggressive batting, makes sense in a 4th innings chase. A bit less so in other circumstances.
Probably the most entertaining day at the cricket i have ever had. 300 runs, 16 wickets, a result. 93,000 in the crowd, barmy army loud all day.
Could barely get a beer for fear of something happening.
Traditional? No. Fun? Fuck yes.
Need new plans for tomorrow.
